No one expects good shark movies this time of year on syfy channel in prep for the latest Sharknado event, so no one should be disappointed. But yet I am. This movie was neither consistently laughably awful, nor at all good. Sharks are apparently foiled (at least for a time) by rubber and wood rafts, but take out the folks on a good-sized boat within just a minute or two.

The girls take out a couple of sharks in the most ridiculous ways possible (pulling a large rock onto one's head, setting one on fire with about a quart of gasoline, etc.), which do contribute to the entertainment value. However, the movie takes it self seemingly seriously whilst this is all going on. It's like they had the resources to actually make a halfway decent film, but they chose to just ride the fence of camp and legitimate film and chose not to commit to either.

The one thing that could have barely saved it would have been a shark jumping out and eating the last survivor as she was recording her video log of the recent events. She had it coming at least as much as the rest of the characters. Embarrassingly bad for all participants - I hope they continue to find work despite this very forgettable film.

I forced myself to watch this since I love shark movies. It was absolutely ridiculous on so many levels. Please don't watch this movie like I did haha.

My husband started watching this movie and I wound up watching it with him. Holy cow is this movie bad. The script and acting are horrible. Like the sharks can't get her floating on an inflatable raft for how long or on the little platform but the two guys that show up on an actual boat get knocked off and eaten in no time at all. Seriously?!?! There's how many other "seriously" moments I could list but I don't feel like wasting any more time on this. Hopefully I can save someone else from watching this and wasting their time. Unless you want to watch it as a comedy because that's how we took it. I was actually cheering for the sharks (which the digital sharks were pretty good for SYFY movie standards I will say).

My mom wanted to watch this while I visited. The girls were cute enough. But the CGI sharks growled. I tried to explain sharks don't have vocal chords but she just told me to hush up.

Where did they film this..."Broccoli Island"?!

Silly plot, pitiful, yet fun, special effects. Terrible acting. But a fun enough way to spend a couple rainy Saturday afternoon hours...

I know it was a straight to SyFy movie but it was not worth watching. It seemed like the network had a time slot to fill so they watched a few movies, got some ideas and wrote and filmed this movie in a day. Too predictable with the same old problems to overcome.

Bad acting Bad story Bad graphics And I just wasted a perfectly good star on it

Terrible acting ... worst decisions made by characters in a movie to put themselves in harms way . Even in fast farward it was still painful to watch ... skip this one .

I love it how the main character is so optimistic and talks to the sharks as if they will talk back.

Lead: What are you doing?! Shark: Oh you know just trying to eat you.

Not up to the usual standards of SyFy cheesey shark movies. I was bored to tears trying to watch it.

So I didn't have high hopes for this and I wasn't disappointed. Why would you actually spend money and time on this claptrap. Syfy May have hit a new low! Look I'm all for sharks, blood, and attractive people dying horrible deaths but really syfy? You could have attempted either a little realism or gone high camp. This movie is so dumb and so predictable. SKIP IT!!

Here at the State of Hawaii we have lots of really ignorant people that make really stupid deadly decisions based on some Video Log (vlog), Social Media, Blog that dares them to do life threatening things.

The State of Hawaii had to use Hawaii Citizens Money to file Lawsuits to stop this insanity of telling people on Social Media, Vlogs, Blogs to go to extremely deadly locations including increasing the Laws to Felony Crimes (Federal Communications Commission)..

Every Year everybody pays $Millions for very expensive Rescues because of these few peoples stupid Decisions. Sometimes Rescuers die unnecessarily.

"Back in the Day" they were known as "Thrill Seekers" as not "Explorers" as those Deadly Locations were already Explored usually resulting in Deaths, with very clear Huge Signs "NO TRESPASSING".

This was hilariously bad, but like skimming through for about 5 minutes. Sharks that roar like lions... LOL And the blatant rip off from Jaws SMH!

God, the acting was horrible and since they couldn't afford decent special effects they did 1/4 second edits so you barely knew what was going on.

You can skip this unless you can find a hilarious clip on youtube.

Sorry. But, this movie was poorly written. Poorly acted. It was as if no research was put into it. The implausibility was too over the top. I forced myself to watch it to the end.

I put up with a lot of things that don't make sense in a movie if the acting is fairly enjoyable and the movie on the whole is.This one doesn't do it.

I was rooting for the sharks. The sharks failed me.I could blame the actress (why they thought she should have been the leading character is beyond me), but that was just a part of it.

There are some awful movies out there these days but this isn't one of them. Frenzy takes it a step further than awful, it's a full blown water logged turd puddle.

Everything and everyone were perfect in this movie. Acting is outstanding, directing brilliant and the CGI is out of the world. They painted a perfect picture how the great white is actually behaving. They are ruthless mean killing machines who hate human being and i knew David Attenborough was wrong, they just kill for food. This movie is my real evidence. If i have to choose sponge bob or frenzy, i would definitely choose this. A hundred time!!! Not sure about Hello Kittys adventure against Frenzy though......

Have made no secret in the past of intensely disliking, and even outright hating a lot, a vast majority of SyFy's (near-universally maligned for good reason) output, though there is curiosity as to whether they are capable of making something good and compulsive about their output's badness. Admittedly, SyFy do have a small group of watchable films and the occasional (big emphasis on that word) above average one, unfortunately outweighed by the lacklustre at best and often dreadful films they churn out.

Am well aware, just to make things clear right now, that films like 'Frenzy' are not ones to be taken seriously, have been well versed enough seeing previous SyFy efforts to not expect that. Have seen my fair share of low-budget shark films, and any other kind of low-budget creature film, and will admit to finding some guilty fun in some of them (i.e. the first two 'Sharknado' films). There are definitely worse shark films than 'Frenzy', which for a SyFy shark film is borderline tolerable if still not good at all.

Some of the scenery is semi-decent but that is it in 'Frenzy's ' favour. Even that is wasted by that the rest of the production values are so poorly executed. The lead performances from Gina Vitori and especially Aubrey Reynolds are surprisingly credible.

The acting from everyone else is pretty poor, with the usual mix of overplaying and blandness. Any few attempts to develop the characters results in padded and pointless scenes, development is at best flimsy and it's all overwrought and does little to make the characters endearing or care or learn enough about them.

The execution of almost everything is severely underwhelming, not just being visually cheap and poorly acted and written even worse but what seemed like a decent, and fairly inventive for a SyFy shark film, idea was executed in typical SyFy shark film fashion, with no imagination whatsoever, everything is so ordinary, and only occasional splashes of fun.

Faring worse are the production values, story and writing. 'Frenzy', aside from the scenery, is drably shot and sloppily edited, but it's the truly abysmal special effects that are the worst. As the sharks were made on a low-budget it would have been forgiven a little if it was not great, but when the effects for the sharks look as if no effort was given in making them without looking so goofy and unfinished-looking that is hard to ignore or forgive.

Can say no better about the portrayal of the sharks either. They exude little personality either, no menace, not even any unintentional goofiness. Generally the attack scenes, apart from the odd mild amusement and moments of ferocity, are sloppily edited and devoid of suspense or sense of horror by holding very few surprises. Any gore is cheaply cartoonish and adds nothing, instead being gratuitous.

Writing ranges between incredibly bad to appalling. Any comedy is incredibly forced and is so cheesy it is enough to make the eyes roll in disbelief, while the more serious moments are very awkwardly written and as trite as anybody can possibly go, complete with some truly muddled jargon. The silliness goes well overboard as the film progresses and it becomes intelligence insulting even when one tries to take it for what it's trying to be.

Really wanted to like the story here because the concept was intriguing slightly, but while it starts nicely the further the film progresses the lazier, cheesier and more formulaic it gets, also making the mistake that most SyFy films make of trying so hard to be over the top and stupid but in a painfully predictable and less than fresh way that it becomes tiresome. With the psychological elements, it also tries to take itself seriously, but the credibility-straining and lack of sense makes it difficult to take it at face value and gives the impression the film was not sure what to do with itself. The stupidity gets stale quickly and the film is a little flabby pace-wise.

Summing up, lame but not a disaster. 3/10 Bethany Cox

This was not a good movie. However, I got a few laughs from watching the unrealistic slow motion shark scenes.

The script is so bad, and the characters are so stupid, the sharks are the heros of this subpar film.

People as stupid as the characters in this film should never procreate. Natural selection is our friend.

Don't watch unless you're in a state with legal marijuana. You'll need something to ease your pain.

Seriously, I could get past the dreadful, lazy special effects, I could get past the dire acting, the dialogue that feels like it was written by a 12 year old online gaming addict, hell, I could even get past the woeful direction and editing, where in one scene a shark is 15 feet behind someone travelling at full speed and the next, it's half a mile behind them but I just can not get past the absolute stupidity of the characters in this film. Human beings are not capable of acting so ridiculously STUPID when thier lives are in danger. Some of the characters decision making in this flick is nauseating. I literally have a bruise on my forehead from the amount of times I slapped my palm into it. You feel absolutely zero sympathy for anyone in this film because they're all so bloody dim, they all deserve thier fates. Oh, and some of the ridiculous ways they kill the sharks, Wow! It beggars belief. Stay away from this clunker of a film, it's awful and really does make you feel like you've lost brain cells after sitting through it. It makes Jaws the revenge look worthy of an Oscar.

This might be the worst movie ever made. Definitely the worst I've ever seen. Fight any urge you feel to watch it you'll thank me later. P.s. this isn't hate on any actors or anything it's just simply a terrible movie

This Sci-fi Channel original was surprisingly very entertaining even with it's low budget. I think a lot of people are judging this film too harshly in my opinion. What I loved most about it was that it had a message... you can do anything you put your mind to, even if you think that you are too weak or fearful to do so. Compared to similar films like 2018's high budget flop 'The Meg', this was good, and showed development in visual effects and characters (Is Sharknado to thank?). I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves these shark type movies. It was a silly good watch.
