A Porta Aberta (1989) Online

Mr. Rodrigues arrives in the house of Laura (Marieta Severo) seeking a job with a letter of introduction and the girl Vera (Janaína Diniz Guerra) invites him to enter. While waiting for Laura that is upstairs, Vera explains that the door is open because the husband (José Wilker) and brothers of her Aunt Laura went to hunt on exactly three years ago and vanished in the swamp. Her aunt leaves the door open expecting the trio to return from the hunting with their dog.

When Laura arrives in the living room, she tells to Mr. Rodrigues that she is waiting for her husband and her two brothers that went to hunt with their dog. When three men arrive in the house, Laura welcomes her husband and her brothers, and her husband asks who the man that rushed way from them is and Vera explains her own version to what has happened.

"A Porta Aberta" is a funny short about bleak fantasies of a girl. The concise screenplay works very well, supported by a great cast and magnificent cinematography. My vote is eight.
