It is the start of the fourteenth series and to be blunt I felt on the rewatch the previous series to be a disappointment. Roy Clarke really seemed to be struggling for plots and laughs.

However a change is immediately noticeable, we are back to film rather than video. Last of the Summer Wine just seems suited to filmed exterior scenes. I think the elderly cast members preferred it that way as well.

Foggy still bores passing stranger which is jungle stories and this time the unfortunate victim is someone on a bus stop. Foggy feels the street is too strategically unsafe to defend properly but ends up missing the bus as he climbed on top of the shelter to demonstrate that advantage of height.

Compo feels unhealthy especially as he sees Ernie Burniston cycling around.

Howard as in the previous series wants Clegg to give something to Marina, this time a birthday card. Not sure why Howard has so much difficulties doing this small tasks himself as he spends a lot of time cycling around or whatever else with Marina.

At least we get to Howard get dressed up in drag only to be interrupted by Auntie Wainwright who now has Smiler working for him. I guess he is not lodging with Nora Batty anymore.

Strangest part of the episode is to see the cafe being packed out. We are never given an explanation for the morning rush and it seems the cafe set has changed, it looks bigger.
