On a map consulted by Lisa, there is an island called "Margaritaville", that is song written and performed by Jimmy Buffett .

Intrusion of the POD-Y snatchers, seems to be an allusion to the Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) which in turn is based on The Thing from Another World (1951).

Steve Mobbs is an allusion to Steve Jobs the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Apple. Jobs successor is Tim Cook.

Lisa consulted a map which contained Skull Island. That is the home of King Kong as illustrated in the film Конг: Остров черепа (2017) .

Cthulhu is a reference to an entity from the works of American Science Fiction author H.P. Lovecraft .

Multiplisa-ty segment seems to be an allusion to the film Сплит (2016) starring James McAvoy.

One of the stronger Treehouse of Horror episodes in recent memory.

Best part is the opening segment. Liked how the first story takes jabs at dystopian films. The second story could've had a stronger plot, but there were enough fun lines I'll let it pass.

From the first running gag to the end, after 30 years some of the show was fresh and I applaud the cast and crew!

I don't know whether it really is the worst Treehouse of Horror ever, I have blocked the past dozen from my mind, the Simpsons hasn't been funny for some time, once in a while the show will get it's groove back a little but these last few seasons have been particularly bad, I love the first few seasons to pieces, I can literally almost quote some episodes off by heart, but I did not laugh even once during this episode, where the first 5 halloween specials where some of the best episodes ever made and where even some of the latter specials have been wonderful, like the y2k one or the episode where Bart has an evil twin in the attic, but this Halloween special was just another in a long line of disappointments, please euthanize this show, on some level it clearly wants to die.

I haven't watched any of the new seasons, but I still like to watch treehouse of horror, but this is so boring and so was the the previews ones, they really gonna do this show until one the Voice actors dies.

This episode sucked. Never should have gotten greenlit passed season 8. 22 years of unwatchable episodes. From the greatest show in history to the worst. Have some dignity Bat Growing.

One of the reasons I like Halloween is the nostalgia of it all, the jack-o-lanterns ????, the scary ???? ghost stories, the trick or treating .. This episode had zero of these ingredients ???? ????

I am a huge simpsons fan and have watched it weekly for over 20 years now, I was thrilled when season 30 started airing. The season started strong up until episode 3 which in my opinion was the worst episode to date, however I thought the season could be saved with the upcoming treehouse of horror but alas we were served with terrible parodies, terrrible writing and jokes which just weren't up to simpsons standards. This is my least favourite of any holiday specials and if this season keeps declining as it has I may stop watching the simpsons after over 2 decades of dedication.

Each of these four,( that's right, four!) segments were very sophisticated plots with good references of movies that we have enjoyed in this interesting decade, and the jokes were really clever and hilarious as well. I must see for every simpsons fan!

There are some good gags and jokes here and there, but overall, after watching this episode, there was nothing that I remembered in particular, nothing I could fixate to making this Treehouse of Horror one of the worst ones ever. That does not mean this is a bad (meaning the worst) episode per se, it is just a bland pulp of something you won't remember for a long time.

Perhaps, the most disappointing thing about this episode is that there were some solid ideas, but their overall implementation is less than ideal. Guess they had to hurry up the storyline to produce the episode in time, otherwise I have no explanation for the blandness of this.

Back to time when Treehouse of Horror stories were interesting it's impossible to compare with this boring episode so sad...

Lisa isn't funny. And she can't pull off impersonations because she always sounds the same. The other sections were fine though

This year's Treehouse of Horror was worth being excited for! They seem to have their pacing back, loaded with some quality jokes, and even stayed true to the actual theme of horror! Great episode.
