Much to the surprise of the Director and many of the crew members, Sherri Eakin Jeremy Ivy Jeremy Sande and Rae Varela all managed to actually cry on camera for their more emotional scenes. Some of the performances received applause from the crew at the end of the takes.

The ambulance that is flipped in the movie was driven by the film's Special effects supervisor Bruce Larsen. On their first meeting to discuss the effects in the movie, Larsen told Parsons that he wanted to be the person behind the wheel. Producer Jonathan Kelly was against the idea but eventually relented after Larsen's insistence. Parsons has stated that the scene was the most nerve wracking day of shooting for him on both Hayride movies.

The character "Tiburon" was written specifically for actor David 'Shark' Fralick. Tiburon is "Shark" in Spanish.

Officer Mooney played by Jonathan Brannan was named after one of the real life Police Officers who assisted in the filming of the first Hayride.

Rae Varela who played "Mary" filmed all of her scenes in just two days and performed her own stunts.

The film deals with themes of loss and survivors guilt due to the fact that the returning cast all survived a massacre just hours before the events of this movie take place.

Mark Sarubin who worked as a Law Enforcement consultant on the original Hayride, also played the first cop shown in the movie. He returns in Hayride 2 as a cop searching the woods, thus making him the first person to appear in the franchise as well as one of the last.

Writer Terron R. Parsons Re-watched the original Hayride to look for clues into "Pitchfork's" past. One scene showed a Police Officer moving a box in Pitchfork's house, revealing a rebel flag. In the original take, the actor started laughing since the flag was placed there by the owner of the house the scene was shot in and not meant to be part of the scene. Parsons left the take in the film because he liked the actors reaction to finding it and worked Pitchfork's racism into the script for Hayride 2.
