Eduardo, an aged judge is being sent into retirement. With all his time now available he reviews old papers which he collected over the time. Thus he find the photograph of the singer Tina, his lover in his youth. He decides to search for her, and thus discovers her fate as well as that of her husband and her daughter.

The film portraits a small part of the (sad) life of Eduarddo who stayed single ever since he lost Tina years ago. A certainly successful and hard working man. He discovers that he ignored diligently and by procrastination that s.th. else but work exists in life. Too late. He successfully finds Tina but also has to realize that the time he spent in the office did not pass by without leaving any emotional traces on him and Tina.

The film is a rather melancholic description of certain small parts of the Mexican society. However, the people displayed are certainly not representative for the whole of Mexico. The setting could quiet well be in any other country. I enjoyed the film for its people, I did not enjoy the film for its lengthy parts. And inserting a bunch of flashbacks certainly is not at everyone's preference.
