Constant rejections in his attempts to become a filmmaker and family constraints force Arun to let go of his dream and take up the job of a Police officer.

Circumstances force Arun, an aspiring film director, to take up the job of a Sub Inspector after his father passes away. While Arun faces issues in adjusting to the lifestyle of a police officer, a series of mysterious murders of school going girls happen in the city.

When the teacher harasses the girl, another scene at consequent intervals speaks about women empowerment. These scenes as were contradicting actually weren't. The another scene contained the magician (Easter egg) who was searching chances to kill the girls. The talk about women empowerment actually hid the Easter egg.
The magician is revealed to be the psycho. In first place when the magician was introduced, she was performing magic tricks which symbolized killing and cannot be noted until seen carefully. This was an Easter egg.
The character Sanjana has a twin. Sanjana is seen wearing bindi and a gold necklace where her twin has no bindi and she wears a blue necklace. Though, these differences are not pointed out in the film, one can find the difference between the twins even though they appear only for few shots.
The main lead gifts piano to Ammu which follows her death by a psycho who loves piano.
The radio station is where the main lead finds an evidence about the psycho. The benches of the station are painted like a piano with black and red keys, instead of black and white keys. This is because the psycho is caught red handed at the scene.
When the main lead meets different producers seeking for a directorial debut, the producers demand commercial, horror, drama content respectively. These producers had a commercial, horror or drama movie postures behind their back respectively.
Sanjana is kidnapped and trapped in a torture chamber by Christopher. In the torture chamber, one can see the uniform of Amudha and birthday dress of Ammu who were tortured to death prior to her.
Christopher's character has five fingers in the flashback but actually has six. This may be incorrectly regarded as mistake but since the flashback was told by another character and later the character acknowledges the six fingers, in the flashback, Christopher has five fingers.
The title card 'Ratsasan' is depicted in a piano font with a housefly on it but during Intermission, the title card again shows up to 'Ratsasan' having blood on it which symbolically represents that the character Ammu who had disappeared before Intermission is dead.
