If you are a child of the 70s then this is the perfect show for you. Great cast, very well written, and funny. Brings back memories of my childhood and some of my friends as well. Hands down one of the best new sitcoms to come out in years

As some have said, it may remind you of The Wonders Years, but it's so much more!! I just watched the 6th episode of Season 1 and there were a good half dozen laugh out loud moments!!

One critic suggested this was part Brady Bunch, part That 70's Show, and I agree. Michael Cuditz and Mary McCormack head a delightful cast. They create comic fervor with snippets of pathos into a charming romp about a large, Catholic working class family in Hollywood in the Early 70's.

The show is not a rehash of the Goldbergs. If anything closer to the Wonder Years.

I found it unique and a good mix of characters to learn more about during this turbulent time.

Coming from a big catholic family, this show is spot on!!

Honestly, I watched this by accident. I had no intention of watching the show and knew nothing about it. It caught my attention immediately and before I knew it 30 minutes went by and I was hooked. It was one of the best pilots I've seen!

I decided to give in and watch a live network show and I'm so glad I did, this show is great and i love the cast! I love the whole look of the show. Give it a chance people!

Oh how nice it is to watch a real family show. Remember them? Where you sit with your children, of all ages, and you can enjoy a good clean show? Other then The Middle, I can't. This show is adorable. The family dynamics, mom acts tough but is a lover of her kids. The dad, hard working, the head of the house or his he? It all works and it does it with a set that has you sure it's the '70's. Funny, sweet and heart warming, this deserves to be a keeper!!!

I absolutely love this show! Growing up not only in a (quarter-Irish) Catholic family, but as a teen in the early 70's, this show is spot-on. The cultural and religious references resonate and the decor and clothes take me back. And it is so funny!! The cast is fabulous, Mary McCormack is fantastic as the no-nonsense mom. The intro of no seat belts, bike helmets, etc. is a hoot and exactly what others in my age group talk about - we we're not raised as hothouse flowers and yet we survived growing up and went on to thrive. Judging by the majority of the other reviews, this is a well-loved show. ABC...are you reading this? Please don't cancel this gem of a show!!

Yes, this is close to the 80's The Goldbergs but it has its own niche. I know of families back in the 70's with 8 or more kids and you knew they were Catholic. The parents are great in this show, and the actors playing the kids do a great job ! Let's keep this show on!!

Am loving this show. I watch it the next day on demand and can't get enough. It's a typical first season, not knowing whether to end it or continue on. Comedic, heartwarming, and a parenting struggle we all go through today.

Because I'm the jinx that gets the great ones axed. Seriously. The first time I saw TKAAR I almost weeped because from soup to nuts I adored everything about it and the kicker was the "repeat watch and loved it even more" but alas, that little voice in my head said "don't get comfortable so enjoy it while I can." I'm not a negative ninny, I just seem to kill great shows and THIS is a great show IMHO. I love every character, the casting is perfection, the writing is on point. The only problem is the fake Jesus hair on the eldest son. Between this and Spike Lee's "CROOKLYN", I'm back in growing up in the 70's heaven.

Couldn't be better. Every character is a character; each hilarious as hell.

I love this new show! Writing is funny and the cast is great. At a time now when kids are over supervised and not allowed to run amuck, figuring stuff out on their own, it's a breath of fresh air.

I was born in 1962 and raised in the 70's. Wow!! My mom didn't wear the dresses but the hairstyle and chaos in the house is spot on! We had SO much more freedom and our parents never worried about where we were! And... we beat the crap out of each other... all the time! They just told us not to kill each other ???????? I hope this show is renewed for another season! My generation needs at show that fits us!

This show is very funny and so enjoyable to watch. The first episode is decent but not amazing; however, the episodes after are great! Mary McCormick is wonderfully funny and I always love Michael Cudlitz. Give it try! It's worth it.

Stumbled on this network show by accident and so glad I did. Great acting by a wonderful cast of adults and children, surprisingly believable (reminds me of my childhood), in an authentic environment. The costumes, sets, and context such as TV show and current event references are all spot on. I laugh through each episode and look forward to the next. And since I don't find many network shows I like and when I do they end up cancelled, I hope I'm not jinxing this one by loving it!

This show is extremely funny. Each of the actors and actresses really are believable that they are a true family. Love how it's set in the 70's. Glad it's renewed for a second season.

I thought it was hilarious. I knew some of they're verbage was more current than in the 70s but I don't usually dig that deep it was funny in my opinion my 27 yr old daughter was home on leave from the military and really liked it too. Hope it stays on.

The pilot was exceptionally funny, I keep my expectations low so this was a surprise. Promptly watched the next two. While not as good, they're still better than 90% of the crap on TV. There's no stupid laugh track, thank god. The show feels like Malcolm in the Middle. That works for me.

Update: I ended up quitting about 7 episodes in. The humor that was in the pilot never seemed to come back and with each episode the humor grew more stale until I realized I wasn't laughing anymore.

OK - full disclosure - I only watch sports on TV. My wife wanted to watch this and seeing Boston just hit a grand slam to put away Houston I decided to do something nice for the little Lady and watch. I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the couch. Funny and fast moving!

I was going to skip this after watching the first twenty or so minutes. Felt bad for the kids who seemed to get lost in the shuffle of a big family, with their feelings discounted. But the last few minutes where the parents seemed to come around really saved it for me. I'll be watching . . .
